The game is developed by Romero Games and published by Paradox Interactive. The command and hiring structure is 100% wrong in every possible way other than the job titles. Empire of Sin is a character-driven strategy management game set in the backdrop of 1920s Prohibition-era Chicago. This is a game about disloyal mercenaries pretending to be mafia, it's not a mafia game. So other hired goons will point fingers of who they think it is. Go to the gangster menu after you hire someone and scroll through the hired gangsters and press square then you can change their roles and the bottom option is make them a mole. I'd only just hired her a week before, she was new to the crew and ran off like a child having a tantrum because she wasn't instantly promoted to second in command. There's no loyalty or family with the gang/mafia structure, it's just a boss and some random hired people who are just barely loyal to the paycheck. An event popup stated that their may be a mole in my employ followed by alerts that the personal mission of one of the gangsters in my posse had failed because that gangster was no longer hired by me, evn tho they were. You can kill a boss and any hired mercs they had will run out of the building and be available to hire again as if nothing happened. It's just the boss and you hire random mercenaries and those mercenaries change sides easily in this game. It should be hard, but this game doesn't work anything like real mafia or gangs did. I haven't played with Moles yet, but it seems it should be pretty tough to infiltrate another criminal gang. Once their job is complete, if the character doesnt return, I think its probably (yet another) bug. The second, however, the gangster never came back. The first time, the character eventually reappeared at my safehouse after their task was done.
